Oliver Palmer & Giorgio Garippa
Shelter was created in response to an interview the artists conducted with a Bosnian refugee for a project based around the experience of refugees. The video of the interview is shown inside a tent made from recycled wood and covered with sewn-together charity clothes.
Through this piece Oliver and Giorgio not only draw our attention to post war trauma, but to its transition to future generations. The representations of trauma are located in corporeal enactments – hands moving, tears wiped - which the body mirrors the emotions and story told. |
